With the strong winds and rapidly accumulating snow, Dance Alliance will be closed tomorrow, Saturday, March 4th for all classes. This will spare Miss Dorrie a long commute and our Saturday dance families early morning travel. Please stay safe and warm. It's been a very Michigan winter!

We are beyond excited to announce that we will resume our classes in-person starting Saturday as planned...yes, still hybrid so that our dancers at home can be virtual if they wish. All of our original protocols will again be in place: mask wearing, temperature checks, hand sanitizing and social distancing. Thank you for your continued patience and diligence as we all continue to move forward working through this scenario. So, just to clarify, classes are virtual today and Thursday; Saturday marks our return to in-person. Woohoo! (Insert happy dance here!)

*****

Yes...first day back to dance classes and rehearsals is TODAY...January 4th, 2021!

Yes...we are starting back virtually this week.

Yes...ALL class and rehearsal links remain the same as previous emails that DA dancers and families received.

Happy New Year! We hope that everyone had an enjoyable and rejuvenating holiday break. Today marks the return to dance classes. Our return to classes will begin virtually and we are most excited to see the dancers again after our extended time away from the studio. We plan to return to in-person classes after January 15th when the current "Pause" is lifted. If anything changes...we will of course be in touch.

*****

We will be continuing our virtual class and rehearsal platform starting Wednesday, December 9th and continuing through Sunday, December 13th. Our first day back to in-person classes will hopefully be Monday, January 4th. Please check your DA emails for any and all info including all the class links for your virtual classes and/or rehearsals. Yes, all classes and rehearsals will be at their regular times unless you have received an email about a "Revised Schedule"...this usually applies to DARC dancers/classes. The DA Holiday Break is from Monday, December 14th through Sunday, January 3rd. DA classes and rehearsals will resume Monday, January 4th. Happy Holidays from all of us at Dance Alliance!!!

*****

Monday, September 14th is our day!!! We are officially in-person starting tomorrow and after 6 months, we are so excited to see everyone! We just want to go over some protocol that is important during this time to keep all our dancers, their families and our staff safe and healthy. Thank you in advance for reading this email and for helping us maintain this environment so we can all remain healthy and stay IN-PERSON.

1. We must have a completed Fall Registration Form turned in to DA prior to your participation. So, if you have not completed that portion of your Fall Registration, please make sure you complete a form and return it to DA when you enter the building for your first in-person class.

2. We also need you to print and fill out the COVID-19 Questionnaire that is attached and turn in when you arrive for your first in-person class.

3. If the first two steps are not complete already or are not turned in at your first in-person class at DA, we will not be allowed to let you enter the building for class.

4. Please enter the building for your first class on the appropriate side of the building. If taking class in the Big Studio/Studio 1, please use the DA single door entrance on the west side of the building. This is the side across from the Baker's Nook. If taking class in the Small Studio/Studio 2, please use the DA single door entrance on the east side of the building. This is the side across from the Mobile station. All dancers will be exiting the building by using the DA double doors on the east side of the building.

5. Upon entering/exiting the building:

A. Please remain in your vehicles or socially distanced on the sidewalks until your class is allowed to enter the building. Teachers will be opening the doors and letting dancers in for class. If you are the parent or guardian of our younger dancers and you feel they would benefit from you entering the building to make them feel more comfortable and to assist with putting on dance shoes, etc., please also complete a COVID-19 Questionnaire and turn in with your dancer's Questionnaire when entering the building.

B. Dancers will turn in the completed COVID-19 Questionnaire as well as the Fall Registration Form if needed.

C. Dancers will be given a mask if they don't arrive with their own so that they can enter the building and take class.

D. Dancers will use our hand sanitizer.

E. Dancers will have their temperature taken.

F. Dancers will be shown where to leave their street shoes/boots, dance bags and personal belongings. These areas are located in our lobbies and certain areas of each studio. Please try to organize your dance belongings so that you minimize what needs to be brought in to the studio. Teachers will be directing traffic and showing the dancers all the many laminated signs that will remind everyone of studio protocol. There are also many markings on the flooring throughout the building to maintain socially distanced flow of traffic and socially distanced dancing in the studios.

G. Dancers from each room/studio will exit through the double doors on the east side of the building. Before dancers exit, they will collect all their belongings from the designated areas, use DA hand sanitizer and then work their way out of the building. If they have another class immediately following, the dancers will wait near the ballet barres attached to the walls in each studio then be allowed to go to their next class once all other dancers have left the building.

Update 06/25/20...It is with a heavy heart that I must report that we will not be reopening on Saturday. A federal appeals court struck down the ruling from the lower court and gyms have been ordered to stay closed until the Governor decides we may reopen. Please rest assured, we are planning to reopen, we are just, once again, waiting for the Governor's consent. We were so looking forward to seeing our dancers this Saturday, but we will continue to count the days until we are allowed to dance together again. It was heartwarming to hear from the many dancers that were looking forward to the return to dance as much as we were. Thank you so much for the kind words; they are truly appreciated. We continue to wait for this part of the state to move into the next phase and once it does, you will be hearing from us again.

We are ready to dance,

Lisa, Adam and the Dance Alliance staff

UPDATE 06/23/20...With the news that we will be reopening this Saturday, June 27, 2020...we understand there are still many questions. Please know that we are currently working to get more info to all DA & DARC families that will hopefully ease this transition back to dance life as comfortably as possible. Thank you so much for all the kind words and patience as we work through this process. More Info Coming Soon!

*****

UPDATE 06/13/20.....In accordance with the State of Michigan mandate, we will unfortunately continue to be closed until we obtain new information. We are hoping to reopen as soon as we hear from the Governor and the State of Michigan. At this time, as stated in emails to all our DA dance families, we are still planning for a late July performance of some kind.

As we get more information or plans change, we will certainly be in touch. Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate through this whole scenario day by day. Don't forget to follow us on Facebook, @DanceAllianceSaline, Instagram, @DanceAllianceSaline and REMIND (info to join Remind found in your emails). Keep reviewing all your videos, choreography and listening to your various music that was sent to you in the links in your studio emails. Please know we wish we could be with all of you every day...we truly miss you all very much. Hugs from Adam, Lisa and the entire DA Staff!!!

*****

Good afternoon,

I will be sending future communications, but as of tomorrow, the studio will be closed through Sunday, April 5th. Please know that we truly appreciate our Dance Alliance clientele and we will miss seeing you in the coming weeks. More information to follow as Adam and I wade through this unprecedented event. Wishing you physical, mental and emotional health and happiness during this rather bizarre and unsettling time. We will be thinking of you all...

Best,

Lisa, Adam and the entire Dance Alliance staff

My daughter, Allie, discovered her passion for dance by working with Adam and Lisa Clark. They are not only excellent teachers, but gifted dancers themselves, modeling the technique, dedication, beauty, and the joy of dance to those that blossom under their guidance.
